The treasure trove of oral histories, immigration records, notes, books, photographs and other artifacts chronicling the local Italian community is moving from New Orleans to Metairie. The American Italian Research Library moved its collection last week from the American Italian Museum in the Central Business District to Jefferson Parish‘s East Bank Regional Library, 4747 West Napoleon Ave., Metairie, LA 70001.
